About our articles

How we write our articles

By the ezPERA Team Updated November 6, 2026

Our PERA articles are written for Filipino employees, OFWs and the HR teams who help them save. They are prepared by the ezPERA Team at Zalamea, the same people who run PERA administration on ezPERA.

Who writes them

The ezPERA Team is part of Zalamea, an SEC and BIR accredited PERA Administrator. Zalamea has done retirement consulting and actuarial work for Philippine employers for about 60 years, and retirement plan administration for about 15 years. The team writes, checks and updates every article on this site.

How we check them

Every figure, limit, deadline and rule is checked against the official source before we publish. That means the PERA Act of 2008 (Republic Act No. 9505) and its implementing rules, and the issuances of the BSP, the BIR and the SEC. The sources are listed at the end of each article so you can check them yourself.

How we keep them current

PERA rules and tax issuances change. Each article shows the date it was last updated, and when a new law, circular or regulation affects an article, we review it and update it.

What they are, and what they are not

Our articles explain how PERA works in plain language. They are general information, not investment, tax or legal advice for your own situation. PERA investments are not guaranteed by the government, and their value can go up or down. If you need help with your own situation, please email us at pera@ezpera.ph.

Spotted something we should fix? If you see an error or something out of date, please email pera@ezpera.ph. We are grateful for every correction, and we will review it and update the article.
